Brief History

We have had so many of you thinking about us and praying for us during this journey of a pregnancy. Here is a brief rundown as to how we arrived here at the Medical Center of Arlington in room 267. It all started back on Wednesday the 28th of November...when Dana's membranes ruptured and she began to leak amniotic fluid. We instantly drove up to our Doctors office here in Arlington and he hurried Dana over to the Hospital. Dana was put on strict bed rest along with an iv of antibiotics and fluids to help prevent infection. The first few nights were filled with uncertainty and extreme concern. We would have never made it without the wonderful staff here at MCA....the amazing nurses and techs kept Dana in such good spirits, and filled her with positive stories. As we got into the next week, we noticed that Dana was no longer leaking as much fluid, and her vital signs continued to stay normal. She slowly was progressing day by day...and we owe it all to your prayers and well wishes. We know that this hospital will be our home for the next few months, and continue to ask you to keep our twins and Dana in your prayers.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of the prayers sent our way.
-Trey, Dana, Ford and Hayden Hughey

With Uncle Clint and Trey dressing the boys... they are sure to be little metro twins in no time. Do they make baby Sevens, velvet jackets and pink button-downs?

HI! DANA AND HUEY I'M GLAD TO SEE YOU BOTH IN GOOD SPIRIT. I THASNK GOD THAT THE BOYS ARE DOING GOOD. YOUR STORY HAS GIVEN ME HOPE THAT MY COUSIN AND HIS WIFE BABY WILL SURVIVE. MY COUISIN WIFE SHERRY WENT INTO EARLY LABOR ON JAN. 30TH. HER MEMBRANES TRIED TO ERUPT JUST AS YOURS DID. SHE HAS TO STAY AT LONGVIEW REGIONAL UNTIL SHE REACHES 24WKS. THEN SHE WILL GO TO LSU TO DELIVER, BUT WE ARE PRAYING THAT GOD WANT RELEASE "HANNAH" UNTIL HER APPOINTED TIME TO COME INTO THE WORLD. SHERRY HAS REALLY STRUGGLED WITH TRYING TO HAVE CHILDREN WITH 3 PREVIOUS MISCARRIAGES ALREADY. SHE CHOSE HANNAH AS THE BABY NAME BECAUSE HANNAH IN THE BIBLE COULDN'T BARE CHILDREN UNTIL SHE PRAYED TO GOD. THEN THE LORD BLESSED HER WITH NOT ONLY ONE CHILD, BUT SEVEN. SO JUST HEARING YOUR MIRACLE HAS ALLOWED ME TO KNOW GOD WILL ENDOW BOTH OUR FAMILIES WITH TESTIMONIES THAT WILL NEVER CEASE. I JUST WANTED TO SHARE THIS COMMENT WITH YOU TODAY, AND KNOW THAT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY WILL BE HOME AT THE AOPPOINTTED TIME THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR YOU. PLEASE PRAY FOR HANNAH SAFE ENTRANCE INTO THE WORLD AND HER BATTLE AFTER IT. SINCERELY, TOSHA FROM GILMER,TX.

I found your page while searching the Internet for family members. You see, our last name is Hughey, too! And that's not all we have in common. My son, Branden, was also born at 24 weeks gestation and weighed in at 1 lb. 13 oz. He was in the NICU for 3 months and on oxygen for 5 months. The good news is - that was eleven years ago. He was born October 29, 1996. He is now a happy, healthy young man, entering the sixth grade this year. He suffered no lasting effects from his prematurity, other than a diagnosis of Asperger's syndrome. I wish you and your boys all the luck and grace that we have enjoyed with our Branden! I know you will one day look back on all this and marvel at your two young men in disbelief that they could have ever been so very small, as I do with Branden.
