January 8th, 2008

Well, the boys could not wait any longer...they decided that today would be their birthday. At around 1:41 this morning Dana gave birth to two tiny boys. Ford weighed in at 2 lbs and stretched in at 14 inches. Hayden came in at 1lb 14 oz and 13 inches long. Being born at 25 weeks and 3 days causes these boys to have an unbelievable uphill battle. A battle that both mom and I know that they can and will conquer. We now more than ever need the power of prayer sent our way. These boys have an outstanding role model in their mother, b/c Dana is the main reason that these boys even have a shot at life. Given the fact that her water broke 6 weeks ago, when she was just 19 weeks pregnant goes to show how much of a fighter Dana really is...and how much of a fighter these boys are going to be. We have been told by the NICU staff, that this will be a very emotional roller coaster ride...one filled with very low valleys along with high peaks. A roller coaster ride that I know will end a success. Being born at such a premature gestational age these boys are going to have to overcome many severe obstacles. Obstacles that range from lung development all the way to brain function. Dana and I both know that these miracle twins have so many people praying for them...and we are extremely grateful to have such amazing friends and family. As mentioned before, please continue to send positive thoughts and prayer towards these boys, so we can continue to witness the miraculous power of prayer. I will continue to update this page, as the boys reach each milestone and clear each hurdle

Thank you again,
-proud daddy.

Congratulations on the birth of your two little miracles! I am the mother of a NICU graduate son, who was born two months premature. It will be the most challenging experience of your life these next few months in the NICU, but just keep thinking of what it will be like when you are HOME, taking the boys out for a walk in the stroller. Things like this helped me to stay focused. I would also recommend you buy "The Preemie Baby" but Dr Sears. It is an excellent book to help you through the next few months in the NICU. Be patient, and God Bless the boys!

Bridgette,
NICU Graduate Mommy:)

Thank you for sharing. Our church (Mobberly Baptist) as well as other churches in our area have added your precious family to our prayer list. Little did we know a few years ago that when you came to Tyler you would become family. Pat

My 24 week gestation son turned 30 on Sunday and has blessed me with 3 wonderful grandchildren... I pray that you will know this same joy!!!The weeks ahead of you are going to not only be trying and gut-wrenching at times, but full of the miracles of the Lord you love and serve. Hang onto those moments and rest in the fact that people you will probably never meet are lifting all of you in prayer!!! So when you are too tired to pray (and you will be) and too frustrated to pray (and you will be) just remember you don't have to, because WE are... and that's how God intends it sometimes, I think!!!
Dana, I have missed you in my livingroom every morning... but your absence has reminded me to lift you in prayer.
My family and I will continually watch for further news on your babies as well as continually lift you ALL to our heavenly Father. P.S. Thanks for the information link on KLTV's website. It means alot to those of us who want to pray to know how to pray. God bless and be with all of you...

Trey, Dana, Ford and Hayden-
Congratulations! We are thinking of you and keeping you in our prayers. We can't wait to meet the new additions to the family. Just continue leaning on the Lord as you have been and he will get you through these tougher times, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you." Isaiah 43:2

Lots of Love,
Sarah & Sam Huff

Dana and Trey - sending up prayers for strength to your precious boys and the two of you, also. I think most KLTV viewers like myself feel like you are part of our family, after all you have been in our house several hours every morning for a long time now. We appreciate you letting us be able to keep up with how things are going with you all. Blessings to you all. Jacksonville viewer

To the Hughey family.
Your pregnancy history brought back recent memories of our first Grandchilds entry into this world last summer. She came into the world at 29 weeks after a membrane rupture. She weighed 3lbs and had a blood infection at a level of 24. Our granddaughter is now 6 months old and weighs 14 lbs. She is and will be forever our miracle baby, and by the grace of God you too will experience a miracle.
You will all remain in our prayers.

Psalm 139:13-16
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Even though I haven't met hubby, he already sounds like a great daddy. You and he are in our prayers here--and those two amazing little guys. Prayer/Poem

Ford and Hayden you are so blessed.
You are precious miracle babies.
God's strong angels
None the lest
We just want you to know that you are loved and you will be the best.
So as you rest here is a prayer
To make your night more peaceful
Just relas and close your eyes and listen to your parents speak it.

"Lord today I pray for Ford and Hayden, your precious Angel boys. I ask that you keep them near and rock them safely in your arms. Lord embrace the Hughey's and hold them tight while keeping them from all harm. And whisper in their ear that you are near not far. This prayer I ask in your name. A-men"
