Update on our "little fighters" as of the afternoon of January 10th

We would like to preface this by saying THANK YOU!!! Thank you for all of your prayers and well wishes. We are hoping that the power of prayer will bring all 4 of us through this. Here is a quick update on our "little fighters". Ford has had a new hurdle to overcome this morning...the neonatologist noticed an air bubble in one of his lungs, which caused his lung to compress. They went in with a chest tube releasing the air, and now he is breathing much better. He will get another lung x-ray this evening, and we are praying that the results will be positive. As for Hayden, he is still staying strong. He is fighting the respirator which is causing him to be a bit feisty....but they are giving him medicine to calm him down a tad. Dana and I had an opportunity to hold both of their tiny hands today...all the while whispering to them about all the support and love they have on their side. We continue to ask that you keep these miracle babies in your hearts and prayers.

Much love,
Dana and Trey

Dana and Trey-
Just seeing the update on the 5:00 news...
I know you don't know me from Adam, but you should know by now that you being a familiar and missed face on KLTV, we all feel like we know you a little! Ha! I think you even may have lived in my old duplex before a coulple of years ago? Funny, huh?
Anyway, I know miracles myself and wanted to encourage you. My husband and I were not ever suppose to conceive much less be able to deliver a baby alive and healthy. After a long stay in a Tyler hospital 2006 and the start of a grieving time period of understanding concept of "no children" we conceived miraculously, and naturally 3 and 1/2 weeks later. What a great way to start the new year of 2007. Our little miracle child was born in Sept. 2007. Healthy and happy and most of all blessed. We had so many people praying for us- Dana and Trey, God is so good, ALL THE TIME. He hears, (as you probably know and have experienced,) every single prayer. These are his children as well as yours and he will get you guys through this tough and scary time. Lean on him in every way, he knows your anxieties and fears. The power of prayer is amazing, but the power of prayer IN NUMBER IS miraculous. We will add to that number! My family and I will be praying for nothing less than miracles for this family of yours. Take Care of yourselves, get some rest,(you'll need it!) and we will see you and your boys soon here at home in Tyler. We wish you all the very, blessed, best. Can't wait to see the updates on the sweet babies-
Blessings,
The Laynes

Prayers and more prayers are on there way. I am proud to say that they work and do come true. I am the mother of a 25 weeker who is now 2 and healthy as can be. He weighed 1 lb 3 oz and 13 inches. We spent 4 1/2 long months in Dallas and brought home a perfectly healthy miracle. This will be a long journey, but our Heavenly Father will be with you all the way. There will be a lot of good and bad days and so much you can't even begin to understand, but you will get through this. My prayers are with you, your husband , and those precious miracle. Bless you all!! Wendy - Gilmer, TX

Hang in there guys! Our son was born at 26 weeks and that was 17 years ago . He started out at 2 lbs 2 oz and then dropped down to 1 lb 12 oz. He was 14 inches long. Jake was in the NICU at Methodist in Dallas for over 3 months and then back to a Tyler hospital for two more weeks. We had many setbacks along the way but were very fortunate to have the prayers and support of family and friends. The great news for you is that so much has been developed to help your little miracle boys since ours was born. Just to let you know, Jake is now a senior at T.K. Gorman looking forward to college this fall. God bless your sweet little family. If you need to talk to someone, please do not hesitate to call. The Scirtos can give you my number. We are all praying for you. Bejie Vinson

I too just saw the your update on the news tonight. I just wanted you to know that what I have learned through a difficult pregnacy, that God gave you those babies for a reason and knows you are strong enough to be the perfect mother and father to thoses little boys. I was given a miracle baby, who was not given a very good outlook. He has a chromosomal abnormality that only 8 other babies have ever had. He is an unknown. He is now 2 1/2 years old and just know learning to walk, but is the happiest baby you will ever meet. He is deaf but hears with a cochlear implant. He has had 5 major surgeries and 2 minor, but dispite his setbacks, I am glad God gave him to me no matter how hard it is or may get, put ALL you faith in God and he will get you through this. My prayers go to your family. Christi Quarles in Diboll, TX

Dearest Dana & Trey,
I have been keeping up with the news on KLTV about you and Trey and those beautiful boys. We have a prayer chain going around they U.S. for the well being and strength for all of you, Mr. Hughes put a statement at the end of an update about having the faith of a grain of a mustard seed and saying mountain be removed God will move that mountain. God is never late, this will just bring your family closer. I know you dont't know me but KLTV is a part of our family too because that is all we watch news wise and you 4 have a great support team all around so keep praying and please let the lil miracles no that they have many people praying and that already love them you have all touched our hearts you are a fighter and you and Trey have passed that on to the those bautiful babies have faith in them. In closing my mom once told me when a tragedy happened with my husband almost 11 yrs ago health wise the "GOD DOES NOT PUT YOU THOUGH ANYTHING YOU CAN'T HANDLE" AND ANOTHER QOUTE "IF GOD BRINGS YOU TO IT, HE WILL BRING YOU THROUGH IT" God Bless you Dana Trey and those beautiful boys and all of your family those quotes are just something to think about. God Bless and prayers are with you thank you for the pictures of the boys you posted.

If I have to do without Dana for a few months every morning so that God can be glorified, so be it, but I miss your sweet face helping me get ready for my day! As I read the comments that have been left, there is not much more that I can say, except looks like God has let others go through some tough times like the one you are going through, so that you can be comforted and know He is there for you and your little boys now!! Take care and keep us updated! I lift you up right now and will continue to do so. Claudia Cole, a 7 News watcher-You are the BEST!

To the entire Hughey family, as well as Dana's family, I want you to know there is so much that God can do. He puts trials and tribulations before us to test us and to teach us to lean on Him through all events and challenges in our lives. I actually love the hard times because it does strengthen my faith like you wouldn't believe. I pray that the same will be true for you as well. Continue to lean on Him, asking prayers in Jesus's name, and asking for specific needs that you have. He will do mighty works in your lives, as He is already showing. Know that God does have a plan for each of you, and God has His own timetable, so stay strong and believe that His will will be done! Brian, Emily and I are praying for you to stay strong and positive, and for Ford and Hayden to make a miraculous recovery and to grow up healthy and happy. Try to get some rest so that you can be strong for those little ones. I can already tell that they are going to keep you on your toes! :-)
In Christ's love,

I will also pray for your strength in such an uncertain time. God loves all four of you and He is truly with you!! He WILL see you through this!! My name is Kristi Cole. My girls are Megan and Ashley. My husband is Daren and we are HERE FOR YOU for anything that you might need. What a blessing you have been given!! Twins are amazing and such fun!! Soon, your life will be so full of laughter and the beeps and alarms of monitors will be a memory of the past! You'll have a great story to tell!!! Again, please let me know if I can do anything. I can even come and sit with you while you are there if you need someone to talk to!!! Seriously!! We go to church with Clint...just ask him about the Cole family. All of our love to you!!

On Monday, I spoke aloud about wondering where Dana was and Tuesday, we heard about the babies. I just wanted you to know that we are praying for your little family. We are joining our prayers with thousands (yes, THOUSANDS) across the country. You and the Channel 7 team are such a constant part of our day that we feel close to you and wanted you to especially know that you are loved and prayed for as you recuperate and wait to take your precious babies back home. Tone and I are thinking about you and the boys all the time. If saying prayers is doing the trick, then we are doing our part! Our best to you and know that we are giving it our all for the boys! We love you guys, Karen and Tone

Sitting here thinking about all of you. Praying all is going well. I know Sam and Abby are coming your way and hoping for an update.

Trey, please tell your family - Bill and Janet, that they are also included in my prayers. Being a grandparent is a wonderful thing - you have your children AND grandchildren to be concerned about!

I hear Dana may be released today. I know this is wonderful and not so wonderful all at the same time. Being not as close physically - to the babies can be VERY difficult.

Hugs and prayers to you all.

You and the boys are always in my thoughts and prayers. Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receive the impossible. Be strong and try not to get discouraged because God is always with you and the boys. I have no doubt that the boys are fighters and will overcome all obstacles. I miss you. Tell the boys Aunt Jamie loves them. I will see you soon.

Miracles are all around and Ford and Hayden are certainly proof of that. Their lives are a witness in so many ways to God's creation. I am praying the miracle continued in your family and your extended family. You have a wonderful forum for support and prayers but you also have a witness to share with everyone on God's abundant love and grace. I believe in miracles so I am waiting to hear of all the blessings and antics of those two precious little boys. Blessings

Dana and Trey, just wanted you to know that prayers and more prayers are being lifted up for you and the boys. I can't say I understand what you are going through but as a Mother I know the love you instantly have for your kids. Those boys will come through this and you and Trey will be stronger for it. You have so many friends in East Texas that care so much for you Dana and we miss you like crazy every morning, but we understand that after God, you have your families needs. Are ya'll having to pay for hotels each day or does the hospital have a place they can let you stay in? We love all of you! ALL 4!! Our love, thoughts and prayers are sent each and everyday. Stay strong and if you need anything...you tell your co-workers to let us all know and it will be done!!!

Finally got a chance to look at your blog. Am so-o-o-o happy to hear the boys are doing well and you are expecting a little sister for them! Dana & Trey....I think of you often as you were my favorite patient and family of all time (considering I've been nursing for 33 years...that's saying something!) Went to NYC last October and saw Jersey Boys....and it was terrific! Would love to see y'all but if you are not on Antepartum at MCA with us....that's a good thing!!!! Know my thoughts are with you and your family and keep us posted about the boys and new baby! I wish you well !!!
Affectionately,
